JOYity is a gaming platform that allows to play interactive games reminiscent of scavenger hunt or Geocaching. The player logs in and selects a game taking place at his/her location. Then, the player can meet other players at a prearranged venue where the game begins. There are several quests to be solved as quickly as possible. These can be difficult riddles and puzzles and/or physically demanding missions. Your cell phone plays an important role in this: It’s both your messenger for mission briefings and developments as well as your steady sidekick to assist you.
All you need is a cell phone with the JOYity software installed. You can obtain the software on Android Market. Also, it's recommended to wear casual clothing and sturdy shoes. Be ready for some exercise. ;-)

The JOYity software is completely free of charge. However, indirect costs might accrue. For example, your network provider could charge you for the use of his services when downloading or playing JOYity.
All JOYity games are also free of charge right now. This will remain so for all basic games. We might introduce a payment model for premium games in the future, but the details are not set yet.
JOYity can be both single or multi-player game, depending on which mission you choose.

JOYity can take place anywhere. No matter where you are, you may find some other JOYity users who’d love to play a game or two. The on-screen map charting commencing games’ and logged-in players’ locations can be zoomed in and out as you wish.

The winner of a JOYity game might get anything from the admiration by their fellow players to great hardware prizes like mp3-players, game consoles or, who knows, even sports cars! Virtually anyone in the JOYity community can design their own games. With the help of your cell phone you can submit quests in different formats. As a game designer, you can then test your own creations. You may set up items at select locations, record video clues and audio clips. Or you can take and hide a photograph to be found and interpreted by the participants. The possibilities are endless and there are no limits set to your creativity. But please note that usually, it does take some time to design a truly good game.
